The still life is one of my favorite subjects, and one of the hardest.  A flower is such a difficult thing to paint and much harder (for me anyways) than a portrait.  There is such subtle nuance. Such delicate beauty.  It is something that needs to be nurtured into being slowly and sweetly, and lacks the harsh planes of facial structure.
